The following is from www.belowtopsecret.com/forum/thread323230/pg1A 10-year-old Florida girl faces felony weapons charges after bringing a small steak knife to school to cut up her lunch, according to a report on MyFOXOrlando.com. According to the report, a couple of teachers took the utensil and called authorities, who arrested the girl and took her to the county’s juvenile assessment center.
Students sitting next to the girl at lunch say she didn't threaten anyone with the knife; she just used it to cut up her food. Where do you stand with this? On one hand, she wasn't threatening anyone with it, but she is ten and able to know what you can and can't take to school. I don't know if she should have been arrested, but if she had had a gun in her locker, no one would even think to question whether to arrest her or not.

I don't think she should have been arrested right on the spot. She should have a pep talk about how she should no not to bring those kind of things to school and maybe get ex paled a day or two.

Yeah, arresting her is a little far.
Maybe reminding her not to bring weapons to school, and some sort of punishment.

Yeah, arresting was harsh. But still, she's old enough, in my opinion, to know that a steak knife is something you don't bring to school.
